Sunday School is a vital part of any church. Aside from the church services and sermons from the pastor, Sunday School offers a great opportunity to continue to learn more about Christ. Nellis Baptist Church offers many classes in which to do this. We offer classes from ages 0-100! We meet every Sunday Morning from 9:45 am- 10:45 am.
We will teach the Bible to transform human lives.
Class members will be challenged to develop weekly personal study times.
We will seek to build relationships with people outside the class in order to reach them.
Intentionally grow our class to the point we must start new classes.
Class members will be encouraged to find their place of ministry.
Each member will be challenged to have a daily quiet time.
All members will be encouraged to attend corporate worship.
It is our intent in Sunday School to incorporate the values listed above through the functions of the church as we move forward. We are working toward building a Sunday School Program that transforms the lives of our members and those we intentionally come in contact with for Christ. This is the Great Commission: “Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
For any questions regarding our nursery, or if you are a member of the church and are interested in volunteering to help, please call the church office at (702)644-1055, and one of our secretaries will put you in contact with a nursery coordinator.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6
With this verse in mind, the Children’s Department has a very clear cut mission statement:
Mission Statement: Loving the Church of the Future through reaching, teaching and ministering.
With each lesson, the teachers try to teach each student compassionately, teaching child-related truths from the Bible. Each teacher also is involved with the planning and implementation of outreach activities, field trip outings, church events, and community outreach. The goal is to serve both student and parent, and make each student aware of their own personal accomplishments. The Sunday school teachers are not only encouraging their spiritual walk, but also encouraging their growth outside of the church, whether it be in school or at home. Each teacher makes sure to acknowledge their students achievements at school and church alike.
Teachers are also available to parents concerning their child’s development in class, as well as any need the child may have.
Each class is split up by grade/age group: 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, and 5th grade. Each class has it’s own mini curriculum and goals, geared towards the age group of the students.
